Founded by Dr. Maria Maricich, Oncology Alive was born from the intersection of professional expertise and a profound personal challenge. A former top US downhill skier who competed in the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics, Dr. Maria has always understood the dedication required for peak performance.

With over 30 years of experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic and a leader in functional medicine, she has dedicated her career to uncovering root causes of illness. Her extensive training spans Network Spinal Analysis, Applied Kinesiology, Functional Endocrinology, and Functional Neurology, allowing her to view health through a truly holistic lens.

In October 2025, her path took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer. This diagnosis transformed her perspective on healing, prompting her to evolve her general holistic practice into a specialized integrative oncology consulting business.

"My own cancer battle taught me that while modern medicine is a miracle, it often leaves a gap in the patient's holistic needs," says Dr. Maria. "Oncology Alive is my commitment to filling that gap—providing the nutritional, metabolic, and mind-body support that helps patients not just survive, but truly live during and after treatment."
